Default Wireless BBQ thermometer, to be developed, or not

just read an ad. from www.thesmokering.com about thermometer, the igrill.

It uses Bluethooth technology, and you can monitor temperature from your iPhone or iPad.
Do you guys really need this.

If there are demands on it, I will develop a thermometer with WIFI.
WIFI is better than Bluethooth.

Feedbacks are appreciated

I definitely would like a thermometer with wifi. I am not looking for a temperature controller, only a monitor. Wifi would allow to carry one less thing and give me a greater range.

I would love it.

The benefit to bluetooth is that you don't have to have another device running in order to connect to it, just the igrill and your phone. In order for WiFi to work, you have to have a wifi access point or a router.

I have to give up this crazy idea as there is a strong competitor.

BBQ Thermometer with Bluetooth, ex-works in China RMB40, or about US$6.35( yes a little more than six bucks)
Apple buys exclusively 200,000 pieces per year. and It can be used only by Apple

details at http://detail.china.alibaba.com/offer/1188822765.html

It's not an apple product. It was created by I devices and it now runs on apple products and android products.
Good product, but yes if they are being made for 6 bucks nice mark up.

I am thinking this many days.
There are many wireless thermometer on the market. The cheapest is $26 and it works.
How many would like to spend $80 for an igrill, which is indeed another wireless thermometer, only difference is using your iPhone instead of remote handy set.
If I develop a thermometer with WIFI, you can monitor temperature from you iPhone, and even via Internet when you are at your office. How many would like to spend $60 for this WIFI thermometer

I'd spend twice that, if I didn't have to deal with the f'in cables. The biggest problem with my smoke yesterday, was the cables going from the bird, to temp monitor. If I could skip that part and be inside, on my iPhone, and read the temps, I'd gladly pay $300. If I still have cables going out of the grill to a box, you aren't offering anything I can't already get.

Any thermometer can not withstand high temperature to be placed INSIDE smoker.
The thermometer must be placed beside the smoker, a wire connects probe and the thermometer.
But you can monitor temperature on you iPhone when you are at home, or even you are at your office far away if the thermometer has WIFI.
Indeed my BBQ power draft controller(thermostat) of LION has this feature already. Only pity is price $200, plus SAL mail cost of $20, total $220.

My question is whether I shall DEGRADED Thermostat of LION to a thermometer only. Thermometer with WIFI at $60, plus SAL mail cost of $10.
How many will spend $70 just for a thermometer eventhough it has WIFI
