Hows come the wind screen isnt painted to match, or is that what it will look like after the first cook

It' hard to get paint to stick to galvanized corrugated roofing steel.

Some 1" tube steel and aluminum sheeting would have gone a long way on that thing.

Am I missing something here?

Are you supposed to put meat inside the "box" on the spindle????

I used a "rock tumbler" when I was a kiddo.
I guess you could put some butts in there and it would cook and pull them all in one operation
No problem with chewy skin on poultry--it is all worn off

Maybe he is onto something????

Looks like they used an old Bell & Howell gear/reducer box for the chain drive. Pretty ingenuitive.
