Default Turkey in a Bucket?

I ran across this site and got a good laugh, but being a UDS fan and budding Cast Iron cooker, I was wondering if anyones tried it? I ain't knockin' it but ya gotta admit it is kinda cool!

I also seen this in a recipe book for scouting. There's alot of things you can make a few coals and bucket.

Given the space, I would try it.

We did that every year on a trailride. Fried one and can cooked the other. Both were equally tasty, and I LOVE fried turkey. I don't think our cooked brined ours though.

We used to cook chickens in a similar way when I went camping with the Air Cadets as a kid. It works really well. You really need a can that has a slight air gap around the bird and then stuff the bird loosly with a halved lemon.

We do a garbage can turkey every year with the scouts. A 20 lb bird takes about an hr and half to 2 hrs
