How loud is your pellet grill?

I saw one in use on TV and it sounded like someone was trying to push marbles though a meat grinder. I have not had the opportunity to see one in person but have been looking at them on line, the noise thing has me thinking it might not be a good fit for me.

If your cooker was close to the house and the bedroom window was open could you hear it running? Could the neighbors hear it churning away?

Mine is fairly quiet. The only noise is from the fan which isn't loud enough for the neighbors the hear. I can't hear it if the sliding door is closed.

Standing next to either of mine I can barely hear the fan and once in a while a pellet falling into the fire pot. From 10 feet away I doubt that you would hear anything.

Thanks guys. I thought perhaps the microphone was just close to the hopper but though I should ask.
