unusual to not get a info packet?

Being our first year competing we are still doing a lot of learning as we go. We have signed up for our next comp and up to this point when we signed up there was always a competitors packet you could download that discussed special rules of the event, exact location of event, load in/out times, ect.

The one we just payed for doesn't have one and I contacted the contact person to see if they send anything out and they stated no?? Is this unusual? How do you get any of the above information?

It varies. Some have more info, some don't. Which contest? You can probably find people here that will be able to answer your questions if it isn't a first year contest.
