I did it last year, but can't do it this year due to a family wedding (grrrrr). I got third in Brisket last year and that was good for $1200.

It may be the best BBQ comp on the planet. They have a free Ribeye steak cookoff on Friday, they provide the Ribeyes, (10 per team, cook 1 for the judging, then the rest are for your team & the remainders are sent to the Sponsors buffet.) Huge breakfast buffet Sat morning, about 20 items ($5) .

The entertainment is 1st class, plus they had a fireworks show last year.

We were seriously considering it, it would have been our first KCBS comp, but too many scheduling conflicts unfortunately.

It is Banjo b Q. It was in N Augusta last year. They just moved it 15 miles up the road. It was a great event last year. Music was great, people were great, great contest. Hope to be there again. Problem is this is my wifes bday weekend and she don't love the competition scene like I do. Maybe, jus maybe, it will all work out.
