I get asked alot to cook for parties and things like that. For the most part it's been very close friends or family, and honestly I don't mind doing the cooking for the cost of the meat, charcoal and rubs...essentially if I have to buy it, they pay me back.
BUT, that seems to be expanding now to more like acquaintances. I have been asked how much it would take to supply pulled pork for a group of 50 at a race track in two weeks. I'm thinking two butts is enough for this group. I can pick those up for $35-$40 at RD here in KC. Charcoal, rubs, injections, etc. puts me up to about $50-$60 out of pocket. How much should I tack on for my time? I don't want to get rich, but I do at least want to make it worth my time. TIA.

Depending who you talk to, 2-3 times the cost of the meat is about what is being charged.
As for your time, what's it worth to you?
