Default Latest Edition - Lrg BGE w/ pron

So I found a large big green egg used on CL. Decided to take a ride with the wife up to Massachusetts to get it. After 3 hours, we arrived and the elderly gentleman and his son were waiting outside to show it to me. Turns out, the guy bought it, fired it up once (NEVER EVEN COOKED ON IT) and his wife bitched about the smoke because he used it in an enclosed patio . He put it in the shed and didn't touch it for 2 years until today . The grate was as clean as a whistle!

Anyway, after a 3 hour ride home and a ticket for window tint later I got her all set up for her inaugural cook - pork chops and potatoes.

Here she is being lit... Used BGE brand lump because the previous owner still had the original bag given to him when he bought it!!

After about 10 minutes I had it pegged at 400 + or - a few degrees.

Which resulted in that wonderful blue smoke you see here when I added in a few small chunks of hickory. Check out my UDS in the background!

The wife and her little friend (Eyes the cat) waiting patiently for dinner!

End result: A very well crusted/seared pork chops with grilled potato quarters and canned mushrooms (sorry, was lazy).

Thanks for looking. I love my new egg thus far and can't wait to get a platesetter and cook some ribs and pork butt on it!!

Your food looks awesome.
