Default "Judge my box" threads

I always read these but seldom, if ever, comment.
There are some really bizzare things stated by the folks evaluating the boxes.

I think a large part of the problem is the intent of the poster/reviewer.

Are you commenting as a judge, or as a fellow cook?

I would comment on a box one way with my "judges hat" on.
In that case, I would stay as close to the KCBS or FBA rules as I could.
I would only discuss things that would add or subtract from the score IAW the rules--nothing more or less.

I would comment quite differently with my "cooks hat" on and offering advice on how to make the entry score higher.
In that case, I would feel free to comment on details, no matter how minor, that might help pick up a point or so.

Just a thought.

Since the poster is asking for us to "judge my box", I always reply as a judge and how I would actually score the box if it was at my table. I can't speak for everyone who replies to the thread, but I just do what is requested. If the poster wanted help/suggestions on how to improve the box, then they should probably restate the title and not use "judge" (maybe use "help" or "suggestions").

Just my opinion.

In a better WWW world, that would be the case

Unfortunatly the replies are, in many cases, so far outside the rules that it just makes me wonder what perspective the poster is coming from.
