I'm trying to get a handle on just how much ice my supplier should bring to my comp.
It'll be hot, 90 to 105. How much ice (20 lb bags) would you typically need from Friday arrival to Saturday departure?

We usually run through 60-80 lb on-site here in Florida with those temps. We probably ice down more beer on-site than the average team too tho. :)

In that heat I would probably need to add a couple of bags on Saturday morning.

If you have good coolers, it cuts down the need. Keep them in the shade. Better to have too much than not enough. That said, I have no idea!

We'll use one 20-lb bag right when we arrive, another once we get the meats squared away and need to get the beverages organized, and one on Saturday morning to keep everything topped up and make sure we can get leftovers home in good shape. If it's closer to 105 than 90, add one more bag for a total of four.

Cool, my estimates are right on. I have a local ice man who is giving the contest all the ice we need. So there will be no charge to the teams at all for ice.
