Minnesota Comps

Anyone have any information about good, just getting started comps in Minnesota.

If you look at the dates of the 18th and 19th of May that is the beginning of the season in Mn. We did that comp last year and despite the cold rainy weather had a good time.Minnesota BBQ society would be a great place to start looking for folks and more info .I dont have a link but they have a website. I think they are a good group and did put on a hell of a contest including paying out to 3 places in the overall at Mn in May and if I remember correct they had a tie for 3rd and instead of splitting the money they ponied up the extra so both teams got actual 3rd place money. They do some extras for the teams there so if you are ready its a good place to dive in. I am sure some of there members will chime in here before long.

Hey Ryan, go to MNBBQ.com, the home of the Minnesota BBQ Society. You'll find a bunch of comp info there. The MN BBQ Society is having their annual Party on January 27th at the Summit Brewery in Saint Paul, MN. Most of the MN teams and contest organizers will be there, its a great time.

I agree about MN BBQ assn as a resource for Minnesota Comps with links to each of the contest's web sites.

Their annual banquet is an excellent time and way to get to know lots of MN BBQers.

I would be remiss if I did not mention our contest in Owatonna. First weekend in June.
This will be our 5th year. $ 10,000 purse, we pay to 10 places in each category. We raise money to help Special Olympics.

You really can't go wrong with the MN comps. All are good with good organizers.
