Have you tried using crushed charcoal brickettes in the burner?

I have been looking into purchasing a temperature controller. So far I haven't been able to find one that has WIFI and is also Mac compatible. I am looking for a system that is mac compatible w/o having to put a windows program on my computer. Is the Lion mac compatible? Also I noticed many of the other systems for the weber have a deflector so the fan doesn't blow ashes around, has there been any problems/complaints with the WSM or performer kettle with ashes being blown into the food?

1.GOLDEN-LION is a standard WIFI equipment, can be viewed both by Win or Mac.
2.Max. fan speed can be set by parameter of Hdc to avoid ash blown around
