I was in BassPro today and picked up this propane turkey fryer for $39.99:
http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shop...5012016/283164 It comes with the burner, 30qt pot, turkey rack, hook, and thermometer. This is the best deal I have found.

That is a nice looking fryer. Thanks for the heads up.

Nevermind on this turkey fryer. I am returning it tomorrow. It has a timer on the propane line that won't allow it to cook for longer than 15 minutes without shutting off. If you look closely online, most of the new turkey fryers have this safety timer. It's not for me. I will probably just get a burner from Academy, weld up a stand and buy a large stockpot. Frustrating.

If I had it all over to do, I would buy the indoor type that NorthwestBBQ has. It uses far less oil, more user friendly and is much easier cleanup.

Bummer on the safety feature. I got one similar to that that doesn't have the timer. I live near Bayou Classics MS warehouse, where they open the "from China" containers and put the kits together. They have some wicked deals on scratch-n-dent products...

I never use mine much as a fryer, but I use the burner ALL the time for Wok cooking!
30,000 BTU is just right.
