Default Homdoor Home Tandoori

There's been a lot of threads recently about Indian food and tandoori cooking. I stumbled across this yesterday and thought it might interest some of you that are into Indian/tandoori cooking. Looks pretty cool to me, but I'm completely ignorant with regards to Indian food.

Love Indian food but for a cost higher then a BGE I will just use my grill. You can also do similar with a fire pit.

It is a little expensive for what it does . I can get pretty good results on my Weber kettle for the money .

I agree - it's too expensive for my taste. Just thought it interesting.

That's about how much the price runs for restaurant tandoors, there are even gasser versions.

But those are for sissies! Check out my thread about my UDT: http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=76637

See post #51 for a link to pics.

My UDT was about 1/4 or less of the price of a homdoor.

The youtube link to the Good Eats episode was really cool. However, that is NOT how chicken tikka masala is made (not truly an Indian dish, but a British concoction)

Don't get me wrong - I'm only a part-time purist . But the AB version of chicken tikka masala is a disappoinment, given his usual high standards for doing things the right way. Coconut milk in CTM?? That's like telling folks in TX to put rice in their chili instead of Frito's. But I digress... we're supposed to be talking tandoors here. Back on topic!

Maybe because I've never seen one used first hand, but they don't impress me at all.
