Looking to make new friends, learn from experts, and help a team cook at a KCBS event in order to apply it to my Master CBJ designation.

Anyone looking for some extra help at a local KCBS event?

Hey Paul,

Do you know of any events in the DFW coming up? Just getting into BBQ Comp. Would like to find some guys that want to cook together or bounce ideas off of.

The only events in TX I judged last year were KCBS:
Sams Club in Conroe
Sams Club in Austin
Sams Club in Fort Worth
Bedford Blues Fest.

From what we were told as judges, Sams Club is in it for the long haul so they will be back in 2012 from. Bedford, is a really awesome long running contest and well organized by the city (Wendy especially).

If you are just looking to cook, LoneStarBBQ (not KCBS affiliated as far as i know?)

Look on the KCBS site and you might find some comps in OK in driving distance. I've been cooking in North Texas the past 3-4 years and have only cooked the Bedford KCBS comp the last 2 years. If you want to get started in IBCA or Lonestar, send me an IM or email. My next comp will be in Irving in Feb, unless I find one I am willing to drive to.
