Default Cleaning Exterior Weber Lid

So, had the wife start the Weber Gasser and there was some Bird Chit on the chamber lid. It baked on and now I am having a hard time getting it off. I have used soap and mild cleaner's, got mot of it off but there is still some stubborn stuff left.

Left a soapy wet rag on it for about a hour, still not gone.

I do not want to scratch the paint, any ideas???

I have used steel wool on my kettle lids before with great results. It removes the stubborn stuff and makes it shine. I think the wool I used was 0000.

if its not a q then you then the lid is porcelain and you should be able to use a razor blade very carefully and use 000 steel wool.

For just regular BBQ tar and smoke stain I use armor all car interior spray cleaner. Cleans it right off and leaves a shine on the weber performer.

Bird chit is tough. The acid in it actually etches finishes. That's why I keep a rag in my car to wipe the chit off as soon as I see it.

I have a Porter Cable professional buffer for my car, and it does wonders on my 16-year-old red kettle. I would suggest you buff the bird chit mark out. You don't need a buffer. You'll just need to work a bit harder without one.

Get some Meguiar's fine-cut polish, a damp rag, and get after it.

Who knows, the Israeli Prime Minister may be great at removing bird chit.

Like MBSHOP said, it's porcelain and is designed to with stand up to pretty harse treatment. I use soft scrub and those soft "scrubbies" on mine all the time.
