Default Box Idea- Please comment

At the American Royal, one of the guys came up with this box idea. We started with a basic lawn, and then used parsley stems to build a lattice design for the middle of the box. We talked to some Master Judges and they all agreed that it would be alright to use, and met the qualifications. One concern though is would judges think it was marking (the Master Judges said they did not think so), and the bigger concern is would a judge mark down because it is different.

The middle of my boxes is covered in meat and nothing under there is seen, so I can't see how it would be marking. Unless i am missing what you are suggesting.

Marking identifies your team to a judge. I dont think a lattice of stems would be marking.

and the rule is simple.. dont judge the garnish, so technically, you should not be marked down because the garnish is different.

What is the purpose of the lattice? Make the middle stand up more?
