Never been much of a baker, but some time ago, I purchased a book entitled "artisan bread in 5 minutes". I was bored last night so, I made up a batch of dough, then baked part of it today. It's VERY simple to do and the results were pretty good considering it was my first attempt. Nice thing is, you can make a batch of dough and keep it in container in fridge and just pull out what ya want and bake. I think i needed to let it go another ten minutes maybe but again, it's a learning experience. I really love this "crusty" bread.

Been baking our bread for the house for four years now. Have a batch in the fridge that I will take camping with us this weekend and bake in the Dutch Oven for our dinners. Love that book. Great looking first loaf. Like you said a little more oven time.
