We also got a 7th place call for Ribs. This was the first competition that Dan our pitmaster let me do my chicken, my way on my cooker. I thought it was better at home the week before for practice but it made our weekend getting the 1st call. if only we didn't tank pork and brisket...usually our best categories.

Ditto. Ribs and pork our usually our best categories but no call. We haven't had a call in chicken all season but all of a sudden we get a call for 3rd. (second contest I'm cooking our chicken on the onyx)

Last year I remember you got a call for 2nd for pork and we got a 3rd. Honestly I was expecting another pork call. All 8s and 9s from 4 judges and then 8s and 7s from judge 5 and then 8,7,6 from judge 6. Gotta love judge 6.

We were expecting a pork call too which would have brought us up alot higher but it wasn't meant to be. looking at the results I see my chicken was the highest scoring meat scored that day.
