Default It has began

I have started building my tank version of a UDS. I work a lot so it's gonna take some time. I'm building all the grates out of pencil rod so there's gonna be some time on the welder. My buddy gave me a basket that came out of some kind of farm machinery that I'm gonna use for my coal basket. Its stainless and already has the holes in it.

If it didn't matter it wouldn't matter!!!

I really have no idea. BUt that basket looks like it might have problems. Are there enough holes on the bottom to let the ash fall out?

The basket doesn't have a bottom in it. I'm planning on makin one out of the pencil rod when I make my grates.
I was also gonna open all the holes up. I don't know if they all need opened or not though.
Stop on by Dave. You can take some persimmon chunks with ya.

If those before pic's don't show you what a 'Red-Neck Bobsled" is I don't know what does. Nice looking build, have fun with it.

You may not have to. When I was at the Kearney BBQ contest last weekend, one of the teams had a fire pit (for keeping warm) made out of an old washing machine tub. The holes were just about the same size or maybe smaller and it had an awesome fire going in it.

Cool pit by the way!
