Digital Thermometers

I was thinking about getting a Thermapen and then found this one by Maverick and seen that the local Williams Sonoma store carries it, so I could run over and pick it up. Just wondering if anyone has tried the Maverick Precision Pro Commercial Thermometer. It looks comparable to the Thermapen.

Check the Thermapen web site for a comparison video in their test lab. Same money and does not work as good.

If you want to compare apples to apples Maverick made changes to their first pen style thermometer. The model number stayed the same but there is a noticeable difference at the tip of the probe.

I believe that video was done with a first generation Maverick. The one I showed 42BBQ was the new PT-100BBQ. Much nicer unit than before.

i gotta say, i bought my first thermapen a couple years ago.
i have had 2 break.
my 3rd one works, but when it breaks, im done with them.
they work, but they break too easily for me.
