The consensus is that mesquite burns quite hotter than other types of wood. I've found this to be true. Anyone know what woods are on the opposite end of the spectrum? Which types of wood burn cooler? And is their any scientific data that shows the various temps of burning wood?

Download the Bandera 101 word document from the sticky on the Q-talk page.
http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=42718 Page 13 & 14 have a good chart of BTU outputs from different woods. However it doesn't include Mesquite. Hope this helps!
