Default FEC100 v. FEC120?

Hey folks,

Can anyone who has had experience with both of these cookers tell me the big differences? I think someone posted a while back that the 120 is much easier to clean than the 100? Also, I believe I read the 120 has more even cooking which could actually be a downside for competition cooking if you wanted to do higher heat chicken on the lower grate etc?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks.

The FEC120 has the firebox located outside of where the meat is cooking instead of below the meat racks. While you would need to ask CS my guess is this might be to reduce the chance of fire. I know of several fires (all contained) in FEC100s. The other main difference is that the FEC120 now has a convection fan. There is also one additional rack. it's a completely different design. It's also about a thousand bucks more.

Since the FEC-120 is new I don't think there are too many guys with both to give you a comparison.

Here is a recent thread that has some great pictures of the FEC-120 that may help.
