Default First Smoke Suggestions?

Well, the Maverick et73 came yesterday, and on today's shipping update for the GOSM:

"On Schedule

Initiated
Picked up
In transit
Delivered

On FedEx vehicle for delivery
MEMPHIS, TN"

Soooooo,
Needless to say I'm a wee bit excited. Just need to get a full tank and some wood chunks, and something to SMOKE!
All suggestions (Save Squirrel) are welcome!
Hopefully I'll be up and running this weekend.
Pron is promised.
Thanks in advance Brethren and Sistren!

My first was two beer-butt chickens. Absolutely fail proof. Second time around was another two beer-butt chickens. Third time around was six beer-butt chickens. I think I'm going to keep trying until I make it fail. :D

The Fatty (recommend 3) for a short term first time fix... while the butt takes on more time (a very forgiving cut for the new smoker).

Yeah, you can't mess up a butt (look what that Canadian guy did for example). As for the fatty...well....there should be a fatty in the cooker every time you use it. It's a man law.

Fatty and a butt. Very hard to screw up.

Butt and fatty here. Both are pretty much bullet proof!

Remember that a fatty doesn't have to be stuffed, wrapped or weaved. Just take the wrapper off and stick it in the smoker. A couple of hours later you'll be eating your first food out of the new toy!

(Sigh of Relief!) As long as it doesn't have to look like Cowgirl's I'll be OK.
So, since it's a law, and it's not as involved as I thought it could be, the fatty is definitely in the first smoke! Muchisimo gracias Sr. Ron!

Butt doing a stuffed one is better, you don't have to weave it in bacon, Just wrap some bacon around it and use tooth picks to hold the bacon on.. No Worries there. and I don't think a Professional can match "Cowgirls" style of design and proficiency at down home campfire cooking,, she is the best(hint hint) Still looking for that part time dishwasher job at "Cowgirls" spread...

Butt and a pure fatty, keep it simple and get some fat coating the cooker.
