Default Cheap Pellet Smokers

I have a couple options to get a hold of a cheap pellet smoker:

Traeger Model BBQ055 smoker for 300.00 obo. Uses wood pellets and has 20lb bag going with smoker.

or

Cookshack Smoker Model SM050 -- Dirty but in perfect working condition. $700 new, if you don't mind cleaning it then it's yours for $275obo. Only has one of the five shelves, they sell for $26.25

Anybody recommend either of these products? I'm really interested in playing around with a pellet smoker.

The Cookshack SM050 is not a pellet smoker. It uses an electric element for heat and then wood chunks or chips (or possibly pellets) for smoke. A pellet smoker burns the pellets as it's heat source.

Agreed! The CS SM050 is not a pellet smoker. If you are spending $300 I would forget about a pellet smoker and look at the WSM. At about $300 you just can't beat them.
