Sonya and I were on the other side of things this weekend hosting our own competition--the 2nd Annual All American BBQ Bash. We had 33 teams from three different states and everyone had an awesome time! I will try to post some pics here this evening, but wanted to share with everyone the results. Huge congrats to TippyCanoe BBQ Crew for winning it for the second year in a row and to all the other Brethren who heard their name!!

From a judge's stand point it was a great contest! The tent was large enough, had plenty of ventilation and was on concrete, there was plenty of room between tables so that we weren't all squished up together, the tables were 8 footers not the cramped up 6 foot jobs that some comps use, coffee, donuts & cookies were there for those who wanted breakfast

, no outside noise (bands, loadspeakers, etc.) drowning out the Reps & Table Captains. Plus there were Dave & Peg Rogers as the Reps

and to top it off, when you left the judging tent after it was all done - - - the ice cream stand was right there! Oh yeah, the awards started right on time

All in all a very nice contest to judge!

This was the best ran competition of the year for us. Nothing seems to get past Ryan and his crew. They did a wonderful job in taking care of the teams and providing us with absolutely everything we would need. Nice to have a competitor run a competition that knows what all teams and cooks are looking for. Again, Great Job to Ryan and the whole crew.
