Passing of a GA BBQ icon

Folks, we lost a BBQ pioneer yesterday in Thomaston, GA. Mr. Alvah Pasley (also known as "Rowdy"), founder of "Piggie Park Drive-In," passed away at the age of 90. Piggie Park began operating way back in 1950! It has always been operated as a family business, and at present (and for as long as I have known about it) is managed by his son, David. But even at an advanced age Mr Pasley would come by on occasion and make sure things were being run right! I've personally savored many a BBQ sandwich there, as well as the wonderful Brunswick Stew and Scrambled Hamburgers. It's as unique a place as I know of, and is no doubt a GA BBQ institution! Good job, Mr. Pasley, and may you rest in peace!
