So here is the deal headed to the lake this weekend, way things have worked out cant take both vehicles(So i cant take my weber performer
Only thing i have room for in my van is my weber sjs. Problem is i already promised everyone pulled pork. I have a 10 lb boston butt in fridge.

More details, No extra moola to buy a small smoker, No stores in area i can get the Tamale pot to do mod.

So no money, No pot, How the heck do i smoke a 10lb Butt on my sjs???

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, DONT NEED A BUNCH OF JUNK ANSWERS BECAUSE PEOPLE CANT READ!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE

I would smoke it at home. Pull and put into either vacuum sealed bags or zip lock bags. Reheat in boiling water, over the fire.

Do you have any friends or neighbors who could loan you a weber kettle at the lake? I bet for a twelver you could "rent" a weber. They seem to be around about any lake area I have ever been too if you keep your eyes open.

When I go camping, I bring along my old ECB and smoke with it. You can even pack stuff inside of it so it hardly takes up any room. Surely someone in Pratt has one they can loan ya. No farkin way I would try to smoke a butt in a sjs.

Well, then I guess I won't answer, don't want to waste your time.

Pro-tip: being demanding and bossy usually will not get you good advice, anywhere.

If you can only take one vehicle, if it was me i would take the vehicle that has room for the performer, problem solved. Unless you are scared of your wife which sounds like you are. Hope i did not waste your time, have a great day.

Unless, you can find room for a 32qt tamale pot with the bottom cut out and 3 bolts installed to hold the grate.

I've maintained 225º for 15 hours on mine, three refuels, total of 8 lbs hardwood lump charcoal.
