Default Got my Horizon Convection Plate Today

Took a while but the convection plate I ordered from Horizon for my 16" NB OK Joe offset came today...I am psyched to break it in this weekend! Looks like it came out pretty well. The weld a 3" piece of strap to their standard convection plate to fit the OK Joe properly. Looking forward to taming the firebox side of my grill a bit after weeks of rigging different solutions or just using half the smoking chamber...

My Horizon offset came with the convection plate and I love it. Mine is a trailer mounted rig, so you have to keep in mind that the plate can move around a bit during transit. On most days, I will have only a 5* difference from one side to the other (assuming the plate is positioned correctly in the bottom)

Nice concept, I'll have to try one if I find another to refurbish.

Wow. I finally got a chance to test this out today and I am impressed. I used to deal with 50 degree temp swings across my offset. Now it settles in with about a 5 degree variance on either side...I fired up the smoker at 4:00am this morning and she has really settled in.
