Default What Do You Prefer In A Grate?

I'd like to step up to an 18" heavy grate for my Large BGE. I see stainless varieties as well as round cast iron rod and a heavier triangle shaped "rod"

It would seem that for major league steak grilling the heaviest triangle shaped grid would be best. If that's so, I need to find one.

Am I on the right track?

I personally am a fan of heavy cast iron....nothing retains heat like it does. get a custom cut one I know there is a guy on here that does that....can't remember his name off hand, but I am sure someone will chime in

A custom one... That's a cool option. Definately cast iron.

And there's a member here that does this?

The Large BGE cast iron grate is great. IMO, it is all you would need.
