Default heating sauces question

I was watching BBQ pitmasters rerun tonight. Is it leagle to heat your sauce on a gas or electric burner? Is that an exception to the wood, charcoal rule? These are KCBS rules I asume, they where at the Royal.

Yes, it's legal as long as the contest meat is not in the pan. If the meat's in the sauce pan with gas / electric heat source then it's a DQ.
