Default Ancillary Contest - Dessert: How could you go wrong?

The recipe below is from the August issue of Food and Wine Magazine. It is submitted by Kate Kinsman and her bio states she's a KCBS Certified Judge, however, I don't see her name on the list of current judges. Maybe she was once a celebrity judge. Regardless, how can you go wrong with chocolate, bacon and bourbon....all at once???
