Question So what is on the July 4th menu my patriotic friends

I am doing wings, ABT's, and armadillo eggs on the WSM. If I can fit a rack of spares on there I will.

The 4th will just be burgers, dogs, brats, corn on the cob and probably toot fruit. Saturday will be the day to eat, it's a combination of my grandaughters birthday(eight yrs old) celebrating my daughter and her beau finally tieing the knot and my wife and I will be celebrating our 33rd anniversary so I'll be doing a couple of butts and a few chickens for pulled pork and bird sammies, cole slaw , beans and what ever anyone else brings, cheese cake, birthday cake, the usual beverages and I know I'm forgetting something

I wear Birkenstocks, and drive a Volvo. I've been told, many times, I'm not a real American, but still, I feel like one. I don't own a flag, since all the flags I see in WalMart are made in China, and many of those Chinese flags hung tomorrow here in the suburbs, with good intentions, will hang until they completely disintegrate from sun, rain and heat.

I will spend the day relaxing, cooking, and then watching the city fireworks. My plan right now is to cook some pork chops, mashed potatoes and grilled corn on the cob. I have a bunch of jalepeños on the vine, so some of those may get stuffed with some cheese and grilled.

Then, I will have a glass of good whiskey, and contemplate how lucky I was to win the birth lottery, because no matter how farked up you may think America is right now, just be thankful you weren't born in Somalia.

On the 4th of July, let's not be conservatives or liberals, Republicans or Democrats, Christians, Jews or Muslims -- let's just be happy we are Americans.

Just my two cents.

A volvo is why I survived a crash, and I only fly American made flags... (and use Ball mason jars to preserve my harvest...) Until I found an American made flag I did not fly one either...

Nothing like BBQ on July 4! This is what I'm having. I did most of the cooking today so that I can relax tomorrow and spend time with friends and family. I'll warm them up in the smoker and no one will have any idea that I didn't spend all night cooking "low n slow".
