Default Family Ribeye Dinner for $18, and leftovers w/ pron

Well, this just worked out so well all the way around. My butcher buddy gave me a deal today. I got $31 worth of Ribeye steaks for $14, then I got 8 ears of fresh sweet corn for $2 and a head of lettuce for $1. With tax, $18.

So, I marinated the ribeyes for a couple of hours in a little worchestershire sauce. Then, I salted them for 30 minutes, rinsed and patted dry. For the corn, I removed the silk but left the husks on. Then I soaked them for 10 minutes. I used the Adam Perry Lang recipe for grilled corn.

Got the grill up to 550 using just straight RO lump. On went the meat until 135 internal:

Once the steaks were done, I foiled them and let them rest while I got started on the corn:

I have to admit, this is the first time I have ever grilled corn. We have always steamed it and it's hard to fix something that isn't broken. But, I will say this was excellent, moist, and very tender. I'll do it again as I still have 4 in the fridge.

Back to dinner, here's all the wonderful juice from the resting:

And finally, dinner.

All in all, it was a fun night and a happy family of 4 at the table. Thanks for looking.

Looks absolutely wonderful!!

Must say almost all the meat you guys get 'over the pond' looks superior to the majority we get here.
Too much of a fetish for 'lean cuts' (unless you know a friendly butcher!)
