Normally I'd agree with y'all, but this year I've seen more candied chicken (honey-based in particular) than ribs come across the table.

is anyone experementing with actual candying techniques? i was thinking of packing ribs in sugar overnight like a straight sugar cure. also was thinking of using glazes like on candy apples.

When judging, I usually find more sweetness on the chicken than the ribs, although there have been some ribs almost dripping with a syrup type sauce.
Personally, I'd rather have sweet chicken than sweet ribs. And DEFINETELY DON'T sweeten the pork or brisket!!!

I agree with candy on a stick for ribs. I have been trying more of a spicy chicken and have had mixed reviews but have gotten calls. We have got calls more times than not with the chicken but a bit inconsistant.
