Default Rained out 4th

Started threatening to rain w/thunder around 3 pm. By 4 o'clock the bottom fell out. Vicious storm and heavy downpour. I had been invited to friend's house for cookout but, it got cancelled. I shared the appetizer I was preparing with neighbors.
Anyone else get their plans spoiled by (much needed) rain?

Well, those apps sure looked good, so at least you had those. No rain here so far.

I'm feeling your pain. i had 2 racks of spare ribs trimmed up last night, but looked at the weather and decided i didn't want to deal with it, problem is, looks like afternoon rain tomorrow and wed as well. Trying to decide if i want to wait till then to cook.

Big, banging flashy T-storm hit my house just as I needed to do the burgers at 5:30. So, put the lid back on the Performer with the vents almost totally closed and went back in the house for a drink. Took it about an hour to blow over. Pulled the lid off and had plenty of nice hot coals left. Burgers tasted better because we were all hungrier.
