Default Score & Rehab of Cook Shack 150 Smoker PRON

I know alot of you don't care much for electric smokers, but I think I got a good deal on this one. I bought it on an online auction. Didn't think I had a chance at winning it and put my max bid at 300.00 Ended up getting it for around 265.00 plus auction fees so ended up paying a little under 300.00. When I went to pick it up I had no idea how heavy and well built these smokers are. It was in working condition but the control panel wasn't in the best shape and it had been well used. Not an inch without dried grease. I used it a couple times and decided it was time for a rebuild. Bought a new control panel "not cheap I think close to 500.00" wired it in, stripped it down to bare metal, primed, and painted and put on factory stickers. Its 98% complete just need to finish putting a few screws in. Must say it looks pretty nice. So I have under 800.00 into it and they go new for about $3695.00. So all in all I think I will have some fun with it!

Great job and overall a very good deal. I almost bought one a few years ago. It was "used" once as a warming oven at a trade show. Like an idiot I didn't buy it to suppliment my stick burner. I was in "purist" mode at the time!! I could have walked off with it for $1800 and that was a great deal, too.

You spent some sweat equity, but you have a fine commercial quality smoker. You did some fine work.

Man, that looks brand new. Note to self: Even though I don't think I want an electric smoker right now, if I see a red hot deal, take it! I'll probably change my mind later
