Default Mini wsm

Just converted my sjs to a mini wsm. Been going at 200 for about 2 hours so far and just threw on my first fatty. Stuffed with cream cheese and green onion. Looking good so far. Will take more pics in a couple hours.

No cutting yet. All I did was drill some holes in the bottom of the pot. Easy easy easy conversion. Hardest part was finding the right pot. I got way overcharged and went to about ten different places to find it. I could've just ordered it online but patience was never one of my strong qualities. Thx friend

No doubt. It's actually gonna be perfect around the house too bc I have 3 racks mounted so I should be able to fit a lot of food on there between the 3 racks and it should be very low on fuel usage. I think I'm really gonna enjoy this thing.

Interesting... any info you can share on the pot you bought? Where do I need to go and what do I need to look for? I can drill some holes for sure :)

You might run into ash buildup with the Smokey Joe Silver,
I run into that issue with mine.
I am waiting to find a cheap Gold model to
use so ash isn't an issue.

Ether way they are perfect for small cooks,
I use mine when camping or tailgating,
can't beat the portability.
Easier that lugging the 22 WSM around.

Few pics of mine

Flatrate did u try putting a can with holes over your intake? I saw a few guys on another thread did that and they said it made a big difference. They used a 2"x4" can and put it bottom up over the holes with a few holes in the can itself. I'm gonna do that one day and if that doesn't work I'll splurge on the gold

i'm the guy who came up with the can mod. works great. get a can 4" across and 2" high. then dril 4 holes the same size as the holes in the sj. make sure you put them in the lower sides of the can. now when you put the can over the lower vent the holes are in the upper portion of the can. charcoal grate fits right on top and holds the can in place. make sure you do a preburn on the can to get all the plastic liner stuff off.
mucho info here http://tvwbb.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/...3/m/5870049575

Make sure you get the tamale pot from WM (available online) ... not Target. The one made in China is the one that fits right. I found mine at HEB here in Houston. All the info you need is in the link posted above.

It makes a great little smoker, which holds rock steady temps. I need to figure out a good way to hold the hot grates during cooks. A small device of some sort would be ideal so i don't keep burning my fingers!
