By submitting entry photos to this Throwdown thread you are agreeing that you have read and understand the Throwdown Rules.

The voting will begin Monday 5/30 after I submit the "Vote" thread and will run through Friday 6/3. All votes will be public.

Don't forget, you can still enter the On a Stick Throwdown until Sunday night 5/22 by midnight Central time.

Our next category will be decided by the winners of the Roots and Chicken Sammich Throwdowns!

When I lived in Montana we ate bison almost exclusively rather than beef but I can't find it here back east. Great meat.

Tatonka? I can find the ground meat here easily. Might be time to make some tatonka burgers. Tatonka is indian for buffalo at least that's what Dances with Wolves taught me.

Yep, Bison is the same as Buffalo. And we haven't seen anything but the ground stuff here either but we haven't hit Wild Oats or Fresh Market yet. We may be able to find some Buffalo steaks at one of those places. We'll see. I choses this category mainly because I have been asking Guerry to try it for years and he always says no that it's too lean. So, I have an excuse to make him let me try it now, HA!

I had a buffalo tri-tip once - it was a little too lean for my taste. It will be interesting to see how this one goes...
