Trigg has a spot in the region 1 for the final / Rob wa 8th, he i supposed to move up to 7th cause arent they supposed to drop trigg since he has a spot in the final? AM i missing something here?

actually I don't think so.....the rules state that a team may only earn one entry to the National;

"If openings occur that allow teams to enter more than one local contest, teams will be allowed to compete in multiple regional contests. However, once a team wins at a regional, they will have only ONE (1) entry into the National Contest. Any subsequent wins at a regional contest by that team will be for prize money only. "

From Troy Black at the cooks meeting in Austin....

Johnny can cook in more than one Regional, but in the second Regional he is only cooking for $. If Johnny finishes in the top 10 in Ft. Worth, the 10th spot from that contest will be passed down to #11.

I expect Johnny will be in Ft. Worth. That contest is less than 50 miles from his house, and it's a $20k prize list

The following has nothing at all to do with ique, or his post....

I heard some grumbling and whining in the parking lot about Johnny cooking in Austin after he advanced from Las Vegas. That's just silly. Johnny entered Austin first, when registration opened. When Santa Fe wasn't full he entered there, which was well within the rules. He got a pass down from there, and finished top 10 to advance which is again within the rules. Johnny has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong! If someone was concerned about Johnny 'taking their spot', the solution was simple....COOK BETTER! There is a flaw in the system, that has been recognized and will be corrected next year.

spoken like a true sportsman!

So close, so close. Even though I know what your feelings on anything other than winning are, nice job this weekend anyway. Super tough field, just a little shy.

I'm sure you have replayed it enough already to know where you are going to get the extra points next time.

We'll get Rob over to FOB Gunner in Roc City for a little R&R and stress relief!

It's BBQ. We turned in the best stuff we had, and got it in on time and left it up to the judges. Looking at the top 10 it's hard to argue that they didn't get it right. The teams that finished in front of us EARNED their spots. Congrats to all, now can somebody please throw some tacks out on the road between Hillsoboro and Conroe? Looking forward to seeing you in a few days Michelle
