Default Black Marinade

At my neighborhood store they sell a Sirloin tip called "Ben's marianted Sirloin Tip". It's black. Literally, as seen below(not my sirloin tip):

I bought some. Foiled it, cooked indirectly, and frankly, it was pretty good. It reminded me of roast beef.

Any input as to what the "Ben's marinade" is? The picture is from Flick'er, description says: "Frank's marinade, $40 for 2lbs", maybe Frank and Ben are cousins, or brothers!

That seems rather odd- wonder what makes it black? Did you pay $20 per lb?

Hmm, maybe a small hint, definitely not entirely worcestershire.
