Default Antique sausage stuffer

I was wondering if this is worth the price? Do they work good? Planning on a dakotah stuffer or the one from northern tool but was curious about this one.

Thanks

I think there'd be some sanitary problems.

Those work great. Wish I could find one in my area. Just clean it up and season it like cast iron. If you need parts like stuffer tubes you can find them on e-bay.

It looks like a chop-rite (enterprise) stuffer...I have one that is around 90 years old or so, they work great and can still buy parts for them...I would ask for closer pictures of the inside and make sure they have the plunger for it. They did come with to so that you could press lard and fruits with them as well. A really nice re-done one goes for around $450 if I remember right. New are around $600 or so....I'm going off the top of my head on these prices but a little google time and you will have more info then you need

Thanks for all the input. I was debating to spend the money on this or a Sam adams smoker. I really dont need another smoker. I have a kettle and a grill dome and only cook for 3. I think this stuffer would be the better investment.

If it were a cast iron Enterprise or Chop-Rite sausage stuffer/lard press it would be worth what they are asking, but I would pass on that one and use the money to get a Stainless steel one.

I have an elderly friend that uses one. For that kind of money though, I'd look for a Weston at Cabela's (they often are on sale or in "bargain cave") or go with the Northern Tool model.

It was sold. looks like I may go with the dakotah stuffer. Now I have to decide between the 9 pound see through cylinder or the white 5 pound stuffer for $99. The 5 pounder will make plenty for me but maybe I should just get the bigger one.

Look close at the pic, there is another one next to it, you can see the handle.
