Belton is our hometown contest so we really look forward to this contest every year. It is a smaller contest that is usually held in the old city park right on the end of Historic main street. This year they may have to move it out to the new park on the old Air Force base as the old park is receiving a
$7 million upgrade to include a new water park, lake, restrooms, pavilions, etc.(Point being is that it will be an awesome place for a contest next year and into the future!) The alternate location has plenty of power, water and is all on pavement. They are also doing free peoples choice chicken wings this year. Who else is in for this one?

Shane - I think we are cooking Belton this year. There are like 5 or 6 contests that weekend within 45 minutes of KC but I think the plan is for us to do this one. We'll see ya there. Maybe you can do a "Re-Peat"!!

Moocow-
Sauced Hog BBQ will be there for our competition debut . Sent in the entry form this morning. Any words of wisdom from last years GC would be greatly appreciated. The website didn't have much (or any) specific info. I e-mailed Connie and she said water and electrical is available on a "limited basis." Does that mean don't count on it?
I'll throw out an invite to all Brethren to come by and visit. I'll be the guy under the white E-Z UP with 2 WSM's and no team banner looking lost, dazed, and confused. CAN'T WAIT! :thumb:

The defending pork and dessert winners will not be there this year. I have a 300 person dinner to cater that night. Money talks! We had a blast last year. Connie and the crew did a great job. Maybe.... Next Year.

The have confirmed that they are moving to the alternate sight. It is located 1/4 mile west of the intersection of Markey and Westover on Markey. There is a large water tower and an Army reserve center on the corner. There has always been reliable power at Belton and the new site has more power than the old one. I would safely say you will have a good 20 amps of service with no problems. The sight is all paved and you will be able to park your cars within about 50 yards of your site. There is a slight grade to the spots but its not that bad, maybe 5 degrees of slope. There are ball fields located out there and not much else. I believe there is a baseball tournament out there that weekend and have been assured that that won't interfere with us and may even help the peoples choice chicken wing contest. Hope this helps, look forward to meeting you!

They have 26 paid teams so at least it's official! They said there 4 or 5 more confirmed.

Just spoke to Connie yesterday, we'll see you all there! Sounds like it'll be a blast!!!

Shane, looking forward to seeing you, Vern abnd Dave and the rest of the Moo Cow crew as well!!!

We are in for this one as well, looking forward to it!
