Thumbs up Had to pack up the Lang...

... for its final road trip from PA to Nashville, NC to its new home.

The reasons why I delivered it myself... the new owner (who will be joining this forum, soon) downsized... swapping my 48 with a little cash for his second gen. original Lang 60. The reason I toted and trailered her back... was not going to trust the wheels/bearings without a thorough repack... besides already experienced that folly losing a wheel last year... along the same highway in Virginia on I-95.

Normally... for the sake of a small footprint... my 48 was kept within my trailer to retain the mess with one trailer/one tow vehicle.

Now with this Lang 60... had to reconsider being 12 feet long not fitting within my trailer. Under the 60 is a boxed subframe... would be just a small matter of putting her on a redesign diet... cut off the tongue, trim off the leaf springs welded to the frame... and add a new base with super-duty wheels... a custom Lang 60 patio!

Until the wheels come in... some TLC is in order... to spoil that metal to a deep cleaning, scrubbing, and seasoning.

Well... that's the plan.

Congrats on the new pit Bob.
Remember feed your old pit at Dayton last spring. You had that thing stuffed full of bbq meat.

Nice 60. I would like to have a 48 like you traded for a permanent back yarder. Perfect size for our extended family. Enjoy brother.

Heres an idea....mount the lang inside the trailer and cut the top off. It'll be easier than moving that thing in and out.

Grats Bobby! Good to see ya moving up in the world!

We would just bolt a hitch on the back of our trailer and tow them all together down here in Texas! Congrats on your new cooker!
