Default Best Primo Forum...

I'm thinking about getting a Primo XL, but want to do my research first. Anyone know what the best Primo forum is?

Here is probably the best place not just because there are numerous Primo owners but because there are plenty of non-Primo owners who can also provide a non-biased opinion at times as well as BGE or other ceramic/kamado owners that can provide plenty of insight of do's/don'ts

I have a Primo XL and I never leave here. There's plenty of Primo owners here, and the cooking is much the same as a BGE. There will be plenty of people here who can answer anything you can ask.

If you would like to sample the Kool Aid, you can always visit The Primo Grill Forum.

All kidding aside, there is a lot of good information over there, but I did get a little tired of hearing all the praise of the Primo brand. Seems like some people believe that you can not make any edible on anything but a Primo.

Let me know if you decide on an Egg. I can probably point you to the cheapest in the area.

Hey darita,

Let me say up front
I am a Primo and Kamado Joe dealer.
My suggestion to you would be to make sure you see in person the different cookers you are looking at along with the BGE.

Ceramic cooking is fun and puts out some of the best eats no matter what cooker you get.
FYI, Primo just came out in the last week with some new accessories that may interest you

I agree with WMI. Get with a few of us Primo dealers and ask some questions. I know that myself and WMI will give a Kool Aid free opinion.

My goal as a dealer is to help out the Brethren with any questions related to products that we sell. That way you will be better educated when you make a purchase wherever that is.

Thanks all for the help. I will search and ask questions here, for sure. I guess I'm the type that likes to research the heck out of something before taking the plunge.

Let me expound on my last post and I think Steve (5-0 ) will agree with me.
The reason to put your hands on any cooker can vary.
*
I have had a customer shy away from the Oval XL because opening the cooker was too heavy for his wife and he thought she would not use it. A valid reason I believe.
*
I have had customers that just prefer the BGE because they know the name.
*
Customers that purchase the Oval JR for the lightweight ( around 90 lbs )
portability of the cooker.
*
I loaded a Kamado Joe in the backseat of a Lexus LS because this lady Doctor coming thru St Louis loved the cart she said it was "ornamental "and matched her patio furniture.
*
Customers purchase the Kamado Joe because the ceramics are thicker than the Primo and BGE
*
I have had two customers in the last month that have purchased Primos because they are USA made and would not even look or think about purchasing a Kamado Joe ( made in China ) or BGE ( made in Mexico ) or Grill Dome ( made in India )

Is one cooker better than the other ?
My take is no, just different features that make each purchase unique.
*
With that being said. You really need to take a look at the Kamado Joe cookers. Nice Nice quality with some great features.
I personally think it is one heckuva cooker and a great buy. So many little details that they have addressed
