The local wally worlds down here in TX have USDA Prime packer briskets for the same price as other stores have select (1.99/lb). You might want to give it a shot. Just make sure it's a packer, and not some of that gas infused, vacuum packed, heavily enhanced meat they usually sell.

Which wally worlds do you find the prime briskets in around here?

HAve you tried The Fresh Market or Jameson's Meats in Ft. Wayne? I know either of them can order pretty much anything you want if they don't have it. Might be worth a shot at least.

Sooner21, the one at 620/183 always has choice packers. The label doesn't say it though, the only way to tell is turn the packer over, and it should be stamped along the bottom of package "USDA Choice".

If it's not choice, there will be no mention of any grade, meaning it's probably Select.

**edit** Wow, I just realized I said prime in my previous post. I meant to say CHOICE, sorry about the confusion!

Getting my grades mixed up, lol.

Yeah, it may be hard to find prime brisket. Probably a local mom and pop butcher shop.
