Parting Of the Shoulder Rule

Ok not to start a fight with anyone who feels differently, but I think this is a dumb rule. Now let me clarify that statement.

The rule states that a shoulder cant be parted to cook. Now not that I think that part is dumb, but it is perfectly legal to cook two butts, get the Money Muscle from one and get the rest from another. Also its perfectly legal to part a brisket.

I don't really care that they have the rule, it just doesn't make much sense. Why worry about whether someone parts a shoulder?

I think the reason for the rule was well defined in the pork collar thread. It doesn't really bother me my pork sucks anyway
