Anybody have any experience with one of these?
http://store.weber.com/Items/Accesso....aspx?pid=1115 The other two things I'm thinking about getting is Weber's side shelf and one of those little raised grates that sits on one side of the kettle. Any recommendations would be great, and I know the Performer is cool, but I'm a lefty and that set-up looks backwards for me. I love my OTG, but I'm just wanting to make things a little more convenient. Besides, I'll probably be getting rid of the Char-griller to make the patio more wife friendly. For some reason, she has a problem with a nice selection of grills or smokers ready at my disposal. ![]()

I use one also. Love it. It's a whole lot better than holding the lid or using the little hook on the inside of the lid but you do have to be careful when lifting it out of the Slide-a-Side because it will fall off the edge sometimes. I've actually heard of people bolting theres on. I didn't know they were still making them. It's worth the $20.00

I read somewhere it has the same clips as the tool holders and can be a nuisance in fit (lid interference) and staying put (I believe it just "hangs there"). It would be nice if they offered the same one as actually on the performer, if that's mechanically possible. Don't see it listed on the site.
^^^^^^^^ maybe NFLNative can comment on that, since he has one...

Yeah it does just hang there but doesn't interfere with the fit of the lid.

Would this work with the WSM?

That would be awesome if the 18.5 wsm would work with this. I am always trying to figure out a better place to put the lid when I am moving/tending/removing food.

I'm wondering why Amazon has 8411 listed as a "replacement" number for the Weber part 16116, which is the part on the Weber website. I believe that Weber just recently re-introduced the part to their site if I'm not mistaken. Anybody got a clue whether there's a difference between the two? Weber has it for $20 and Amazon has it for $28, I believe.

I couldn't really say for sure.
I guess I'll get two from Weber, and try bending one to fit my 18.5" wsm, and the other one will be for my kettles. For the kettles, I might not use it all the time as I know there'll be a small air gap, but I think that it'll be handy for the most part.

I think that I might just make one that bolts up to the existing bolts for the top grate brackets. I think that I have all the materials around the house.
