Found some ahi at the grocery store, which doesn't happen very often.

Marinated the tuna in olive oil for a couple of hours, then sprinkled with Mad Hunky general purpose rub..

I liked it a lot!
The MH dry rub added a nice flavor, will use it again!

Thanks for looking!

I am impressed. An okie who knows how to cook fresh Tuna. Nice job. :thumb:

I am not familiar with that rub, but sesame seeds make a lot of sense with fresh tuna.

Jeanie, that is PERFECT! Tuna steaks are my favorite fish on the grill and you cooked it to perfection. You know, once you eat tuna cooked that way, you wonder why they are wasting such a wonder piece of meat by putting it into cans. It would be like grinding up beef tenderloin, mixing it with pork and bread crumbs and making meatballs.

Never gave it a thought to use the Grill Grates for a flat sear, I'll add that to the trick bag.
Nice job on the Tuna!
