I'm almost finished with my first stick burner. It was alot of fun to make. I learned alot by the time I got finished. I have made 2 UDS before this one. Me and Charles ( friend from work) bought 2 air compressor tanks to start of with. I had never really thought about building a stick burner, but he twisted my arm. This site is awsome, lots of good info, I'm on here all the time reading and learning about smokers and recipes.

Here is my first Stick Burner. Let me know what you think. I made a fire basket to use charcoal in the firebox also never know.

Be easy on me now i'm not a welder by any means, A friend of mine let me borrow his welder and I just jumped in. Here we go.

Looks nice, how did you get the dog to pose in the pics? Season that baby up and get cookin!

Looks real good and I really like the horse shoes for handles....totally custom

Now season and fire that bad lad up!

I like it! I'm building my own stick burner too, just too busy to work on it! What're the deminsions of that thing? I'm assuming its reverse flow? Good work man fire that thing up!

Yes its a Reverse Flow. The tank is either a 60 gal or 80 gal cant remember. The tank is 48 x26 and my fire box is 20x20x20 made from 1/4 hot rolled steel, the RF plate is 1/4 steel also, used 3/4#9 expanded metal for racks and shelf and 1" x 1/4" angle for rack frames. I turned my racks with the lips up instead of down just though it was a little differant from everyone else. Its a heavy duty rig. I just hope it works good, I have no experance with Stick Smokers. I'm ready to give it a try though.

Good luck, you did a great job, can't wait to see pics of your cooks.

Great looking cooker. Once you fire it up and cook something on the something you build you will be totally addicted. One observation, you might want to cut a notch or cut down the end of your fire basket so you can add splits without pulling a hot basket of coals out and dumping ash.:thumb:

For not being a welder you did a really nice job I love those horseshoes Get her fired up
